It Is Pretty Simple - Just Win

Hey Peeps and anyone else checking in. A special "Hey" goes out to Hazel Mae.

Note to the Toronto Maple Leafs - just win tonight in Long Island, control your destiny.

Note to the New York Rangers - just win tonight against the Canadiens.

That's all we are going to say about the NHL today.

I guess the big news in the world of baseball is that Daisuka Matsuzaka will be taking the mound for the Red Sox today in Kansas City; the $103 Million debate on whether or not Dice-K is worth the money starts today. I read an article by Gerry Callahan of the Boston Herald equating the up coming season for Curt Schilling with American Idol - how he would be judged on each one of his starts; it was actually a good read.

The funny thing is that both of Boston's "Aces" will be judged by Red Sox Nation on each and every game, each and every inning pitched, each and every pitch thrown - I'm sure both will be up to the challenge of handling the scrutiny; you have to think the happiest guy in the world is Josh Beckett, most of the focus will be off of him.

One more note, Benfica is in Barcelona today to take on Espanyol in UEFA Cup action - we'll have an eye on that one.

Gotta cut this short today - busy day ahead.

HAZEL'S THREE STARS
San Jose Sharks G Evgeni Nabokov made 37 saves in a 3-2 shootout victory over the Anaheim Ducks - its a case of too little, too late to help the "Maeple Leafs" in the yahoo pool, but a great performance nonetheless.

New York Mets OF Carlos Beltran hit two home runs and drove in four runs to lead the Mets to 10-0 beatdown of the Cardinals - sweeping the Cardinals in St. Louis is something.

Oakland A's P Rich Harden pitched 7 shutout innings, giving up three hits and two walks, while striking out seven. If this guy could avoid injury, he'd be one of the game's dominant pitchers.

THURSDAY THREE PLAY
Ugh! We are in the midst of an awful week - with big favourites in the NHL going down to the bottom feeders. The balance sheet for the week stands at - $1,300, so we are going to chip away at it slowly but surely.

New Jersey over Philadelphia - the Devils are in a position to finish first in their division and avoid the SenaTards, expect them to bring their A game tonight. Lay $150 on the Devils - $240.

New York Rangers over Montreal - the Rangers should be feeling pretty surly after dropping one to the Islanders on Tuesday, I think they throw everything at Montreal tonight and pull one out. Lay $100 on the Rangers - $155.

Minnesota over Edmonton - second game in a row for Edmonton in Minnesota - the Oilers just want the season to end, the Wild are playing for positioning. Lay $75 on the Wild - $400.

Yankees over Devil Rays - we still like Pettitte over Seo. Lay $100 on the Yankees - $300.

That's about it for today. Have a great one peeps!
