My Bad

Hey Peeps and anyone else checking in. A special "Hey" goes out to Hazel Mae if she is checking in.

We'll start off today by saying our/my bad yesterday - from an awful three play to mistaking the day and thinking the UEFA Under-21 European Championship was to kick off yesterday; the Championship starts today and yes we'll be singing the anthem.

Tilt, if you are checking in from Barcelona, your Blue Jays report is as follows:

Shawn Marcum started yesterday and pitched well, keeping the Dodgers off balance with a lot of breaking stuff for strikes; Derek Lowe was the hard luck loser giving up a solo shot to Matt Stairs. Yesterday's game was more a case of the Dodgers not getting it done vs the Jays being better - we loaded the bases with two outs in both the seventh and eighth innings and couldn't cash in - for a team that has been getting it done this year when it counts, we didn't yesterday. Rubber match goes today with Halladay going up against Jason Schmidt - we're gonna take it down today Tilt.

SATURDAY'S THREE STARS
Oakland A's P Dan Haren continues to be outstanding - yesterday it was seven shutout innings, giving up five hits and striking out six in Oakland's 4-0 win over Zito and the Giants. We like Haren, especially since he anchors our Fantasy Baseball staff.

Phliadelphia Phillies P Jon Lieber was outstanding yesterday against the Royals, pitching a complete game shutout and limiting the Royals to three hits while striking out eleven. He hasn't done much over the last couple of years, so you have to tip your hat to him on for this one.

Last star goes to my man Ottawa_Tilt for checking in from Barcelona - we'd rather give it up for Tilt than name one of the Blue Jays as a star.

SUNDAY THREE PLAY

Yesterday was a perfect example why this part of our blog is strictly for entertainment purposes only - if you took my advice, what more can I say than "I'm sorry" and remind you that if you have been checking in for a while, we always rebound from bad weeks like this one has been. The total for the week is really ugly, so we'll recap it tomorrow morning. Today's suggestions (you have to figure we are going to rebound today)

Minnesota over Washington - if the Twins get swept by the Royals...I'll eat my computer. Boof Bonser (we like that name) goes for the Twins today, who cares who goes for the Nats. Lay $100 on the Twins - $190.

Chicago over Houston - see above, we can't see the Astros sweeping anyone on the road; factor in that Wandy Rodriguez takes on Buerhle and you have all the ingredients for a White Sox win. Lay $100 on Chicago - $135.

San Francisco over Oakland - Matt Cain goes the Giants (and the Maeple Leafs in the yahoo pool) and we'll take him over former Red Sox P Lenny DiNardo. Lay $100 on the Giants - $135.

Baltimore over Colorado - we'll go with hometown boy Eric Bedard today against the Rockies. Lay $100 on the O's - $170.

That's it for today gang - sorry about yesterday. Have a great one peeps.

Hazel, I hope things are groovy in your world.

I'm Out.
