Adios Tilt

Hey Peeps and anyone else checking in. A special "Hey" goes out to Hazel Mae if she is checking in.

I think my man Tilt had the weekend's series between his stinking Toronto Blue Jays and my Red Sox West in mind when he planned his trip to Spain - he didn't want to witness the beatdown his boys are going to get this weekend on the West Coast. Fear not Tilt, you can always check in here for a recap of the game - or alternatively, just check your damn email because you know there will be links to game reports and my own takes on the game. Have a safe trip man.

So the buzz words yesterday were - "We're not going to use it as an excuse for losing the Stanley Cup - but man was the officiating horrible in this year's finals." It was as if the SenaTards PR department put out a mass email to every Tard on their mailing list with media lines for the day. There was a definite shift yesterday - gone were the tired old lines "We haven't played our best" - "If we play like we are capable of playing" etc - replaced by conspiracists who actually think that Gary Bettman mandated the officials to call things Anaheim's way so that "the Americans can keep the Cup" - I kid you not. The SenaTards fans have yet to concede that they lost to a better team in the Anaheim Ducks - the Ducks win over the Tards can be summed up with an Olympic style slogan "Bigger, Faster, Better". The Stanley Cup is over, so the next couple of months will be focused on the Toronto Maple Leafs - and what our donkey of a GM John Ferguson Jr. does to get the Blue & White back into the playoffs.

I'm sure a number of you can't help but feeling a little sorry for Curt Schilling this morning, losing a no-hitter with two out in the ninth, to a guy like Shannon Stewart has to sting, especially when he said that he shook Varitek off on the pitch Stewart got a hit one. I wonder how long the entry on 38pitches is going to be. Think he'll have more than a few words on shaking Varitek off on the pitch Stewart hit?

Red Sox West lose a tough one last night - taking a 5-1 lead into the bottom of the ninth against Jake Peavy and the Padres only to see Johnathan Broxton allow five runs (four earned) and lose by a count of 6-5. A sweep against the Blue Jays will set things right again.

THURSDAY'S THREE STARS
Schilling - just go to www.38pitches.com to find out why. He'll tell you why better than I could.

Chicago Cubs P Rich Hill had a dominant performance yesterday against the Braves, giving up one run on three hits and a walk while striking out eleven. Guess who has Hill in the yahoo pool?

Pittsburgh Pirates OF Jason Bay had one hit yesterday, but he made it count. Canadian-born Bay hit a game winning home run in the top of the ninth yesterday against the Nationals.

FRIDAY THREE PLAY
We had a really tough day yesterday - our apologies if you played them; should have known better than to suggest playing "The Enigma". Our total stands at - $635 for the week, so we'll try to minimize the damage with a good weekend.

New York over Pittsburgh - the Yankees bats are coming around, so back Pettitte tonight against Gorzelanny. Lay $100 on the Yankees - $180.

Philadelphia over Kansas City - we like Garcia over Scott Elarton tonight. Lay $100 on the Phils - $140.

Minnesota over Washington - no way the Nats win tonight...they are in for a tough road trip through the AL Central. Lay $100 on the Twins - $180.

Red Sox West over Blue Jays - Brad Penny throws for the good guys in blue, that's enough to get our support today. Lay $100 on the Dodgers - $205.

That's it for today gang...have a great one peeps.

Hazel, I hope things are groovy in your world.

I'm Out.
