See You In September SenaTards

Hey Peeps and anyone else checking in. A special "Hey" goes out to Hazel Mae.

Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Finals goes tonight in Anaheim and here's hoping that it is the final game of the 2006/07 season. The SenaTards used every tired old cliche yesterday, "they're relaxed", "they're going take it one game at a time", "they still believe in themselves" amongst others - they're done - they know they're done, they're fans know they're done, the media knows they're done. Some media members in Ottawa are already discussing how much the SenaTards remind them of the "Oilers team of the mid-80's that lost in the Stanely Cup Finals to the Islanders before going on to win all those Cups." The whole city has given up - and the worst part of it is that they have yet to give the Anaheim Ducks any credit - they still think they are down in the series because they "haven't played the way they are capable." Sad...and you wonder why we call them SenaTards?

Wild ending in Toronto last night - the Jays get six runs in the ninth to come all the way back from an 8-1 deficit to beat the Tampa Bay Devil Rays by a score of 12-11 - its too bad Lou Piniella wasn't still in Tampa...it would have been funny to watch him meltdown over that one.

Lots of news coming out of Leaf land - Maple Leafs Sports Entertainment set to announce that John Ferguson Junior has received a contract extension through the 2008/09 season - translation, "we won't make him a lame duck GM - but we'll make sure we can buy him out relatively cheaply". More later

TUESDAY'S THREE STARS
Toronto Blue Jays LF Adam Lind has three hits, including a home run, and drives in five runs to lead the Jays all the way back - nice night in Toronto...but they're still done.

Oakland A's P Lenny DiNardo did a number on his former team - sorta. DiNardo picked up a win pitching six shutout innings, holding the Sox at bay on two hits and six walks. That pitching line is like a beer goggle hottie - looks better than it is, but at the end of the night when you're desperate, you'll take.

Florida Marlins P Rick Vanden Hurk pitched six shutout innings last night, frustrating the Braves on one hit and two walks while striking out four - only bad thing from our perspective is that the did it against Smoltz.

WEDNESDAY THREE PLAY
Well, we went 2-1 last night to even the balance sheet for the week - Sox killed us last night. Today's suggestions

Anaheim over Minnesota - we like Lackey to pick up his tenth today against Minnesota. Lay $100 on the Angels - $170.

Detroit over Texas - we like the Tigers and Verlander today...especially after losing yesterday. Lay $100 on the Tigers - $140.

Boston over Oakland - Sox were shutout yesterday...won't happen two days in a row. Lay $100 on Boston - $120.

That's it for today gang...have a great one.

Hazel, I hope things are groovy in your world.

I'm Out.
