Karma Lou...Karma

Hey Peeps and anyone else checking in. A special "Hey" goes out to Hazel Mae.

So long Lou - we told you karma was a bitch.

The New Jersey Devils are out of the playoffs after losing 3-2 to the SenaTards last night - expect the excuses from the swamp to start filtering out this afternoon. We're betting that the first excuse is "Martin Brodeur played the series hurt" - Lamoriello will provide the standard answer that injuries are not an excuse for losing...but, "if it was the regular season Brodeur would not have played." The other excuse that we expect to hear is that New Jersey had injuries up front - especially John Madden...oh we'll hear stories about how Madden toughed it out when he should not have been playing...blah blah.

The Devils need look no further than behind their own bench. Lou Lamoriello, the GM who saw fit to replace his coach with two games left in the season because "he didn't think the Devils were playing the way they needed to", was so badly outcoached that he should be ashamed of himself. Lamoriello, refused to get away from line matchups in which the Devils were getting manhandled on - specifically the Madden vs Spezza matchup; Lou refused to get away from the matchup even though the Spezza line was dominating the series. I'd go on, but that would mean giving the SenaTards some credit and you know I'm not about to do that anytime soon.

I'm still trying to figure out how the San Jose Sharks lost to the Red Wings yesterday - when I do, you'll be the first to know. Yesterday's game was much like games 2 and 4 of the series; San Jose comes out hard and takes the play to the Red Wings - looking like they are about to blow the Wings off the ice...and all of a sudden they find themselves trailing. Coach Ron Wilson, who has a Colonel Sanders look about him these days, better figure this mess out fast and get it straightened out. I still think San Jose wins the Series...they are just going to have to do it the hard way.

We didn't like the results of either game yesterday...so we'll focus on MLB action.

HAZEL'S THREE STARS
Red Sox West P Derek Lowe pitched seven solid innings last night in the Dodgers 6-3 victory over the Braves. Lowe gave up one unearned run on three hits and two walks while striking out eight - the Braves looked overmatched yesterday.

New York Yankees P
Chien-Ming Wang had a perfect game through seven innings but lost it in the eighth when Ben Broussard took him deep. Wang finished the day giving up one run on two hits, and striking out four over eight innings.

Houston Astros P
Matt Albers picked up the win yesterday in St. Louis, holding the Cardinals scoreless over 7.1 innings. Albers limited the Cardinals to three hits and a walk in the 13-0 romp.

SUNDAY THREE PLAY
A tough night last night after a promising afternoon - the total for the week stands at + $250.

Buffalo over NY Rangers - you have to figure the NHL's best road team can win one game on the road; we like Buffalo to end it this afternoon and start focusing on the Tards. Lay $100 on the Sabres - $110.

Boston over Minnesota - Schilling lost a win in his last start when Papelbon blew his first game of the season; expect Schilling to respond by doing it all himself today. Lay $100 on the Red Sox - $170.

San Diego over Florida - we'll take Peavy over Olsen...no explanation needed. Lay $75 on the Padres - $155.

Cincinnati over Colorado - we'll go with former Red Sox P Bronson Arroyo to avoid the sweep today in Cincy. Lay $75 on the Reds - $175.

Philadelphia over San Francisco - We expect Cole Hamels to rebound from his last start and pitch the way he is capable of. Lay $75 on the Phillies - $135.

That's it for this morning gang - have a great one peeps!

KEEPING HAZEL UP ON WHAT'S WHAT IN TORONTO
J.P being less than honest???? (and you wonder why I say he is a chump?)

Is there anything more than that? I don't think so
