Eagle Grounded or Dead?

Hey Peeps and anyone else checking in. A special, heading into the weekend "Hey" goes out to Hazel Mae.

The Toronto Maple Leafs announced yesterday that Eddie "The Eagle" Belfour would miss the rest of the season with a back injury. This is likely the end of the road for Belfour - a sad way to end a very good career...Leaf Nation has to face the fact that for all the talk about how bad our defence was this year, Belfour's play this year could only be described as ordinary.

Speaking of ordinary, Toronto could have used a few ordinary defencemen and forwards last night against Montreal - the whole team was awful. Their season comes down to Saturday night (ok...they are probably out of it - but The Nation is holding out for Hazel Karma on this one) - the have to win and hope for some help.

The NCAA Tournament featured two fantastic finishes last night - Gonzaga, led by the Ashton Kutcher wanna be Adam Morrison, blew a nine point lead with a little over 3 minutes left. UCLA showed a lot of character in pressuring Gonazaga into turnovers late in the game - you had to see it to believe it. The finish in the Texas-West Virginia game was just as exciting with West Virginia hitting a three-pointer with five seconds left to tie the game - and Texas taking it the length of the floor to hit a three at the buzzer. Fantastic finishes. Why am I talking about the NCAA? Because I had both of those buzzer beaters on my Pro-Line ticket (as ties - five points or less) along with a couple of other games to win a very tidy little sum that is going to pay for my Friday night out and then some! Hazel, steaks - ribs and beers on me if you can make it tonight!

Cowboys sign another media darling - Mike Vanderjagt. I like the signing, more on that this weekend.

Something that would make Hazel laugh - we are a month into the Tim Horton's "Roll up the rim to win" contest - two or three coffees every day....and NOT ONE DAMN WINNER. I haven't even wonder a lousy donut for crap's sakes. I'm expecting the cup that says "I peed in your cup" (internet gag up here). Oh well, Hazel is probably a Starbuck's girl anyways.

Ok gang...I have to head out to work. Have a great one peeps.

HAZEL'S FRIDAY HOROSCOPE
Don't make mistakes because you are letting things get to you personally and professionally. Stop and take note of what everyone else is doing and avoid making comments or quick assessments. Avoid any secretive matter that could leave you vulnerable. 2 stars

Hazel I hope things are groovy in your world - have a great weekend!

Song of the Day on Hazelspeeps - I caught a bit of the British Music Awards last night (during a commercial break) and saw the Paul Weller (ex of The Jam) won an award last night...he did a set too. So for Paul Weller...and everyone who still loves punk/mod music from the 80's

That's Entertainment - The Jam (if you are too young to know who they are...go download it this song - a classic).

Peesth Out!
