Murphy's Law For Leafs Nation

Hey Peeps and anyone else checking in. A special "Hey" goes out to Hazel Mae.

Well, it doesn't get much worse than last night if you are a member of Leafs Nation. The three teams fighting it out with Toronto all won - in comeback fashion, just to add insult to injury.

The performance put in by the Boston Bruins was a perfect illustration of why we pronounced them dead weeks ago - they are a bad hockey team. The Bruins built up a 3-1 lead in the second period and gave up five unanswered goals to lose 6-3. The Bruins defence was exposed for being a half a step slow and softer than a cotton ball last night. Bruins fans have to be asking Peter Chiarelli what in the hell he was thinking about when he traded Brad Boyes for Dennis Wideman; the Aaron Ward for Paul Mara deal isn't looking very good either. Well Bruins, on behalf of Leafs Nation let me be the first to say "Thanks for nothing."

The Pittsburgh Penguins got out to a 1-0 first period lead on the Islanders only to lose 3-1. When was the last time Crosby and the Penguins went 0 for 6 on the power play? Unbelievable, a game that they needed to win to keep pace with the SenaTards for 4th place in the Eastern Conference and they lay an egg on the Island. Thanks for nothing Crosby.

The Capitals put up a good fight in Carolina, but they just don't have enough to compete. We can't be mad at the Caps because we couldn't expect them to win last night. Kudos to Ovechkin for scoring two goals to give Leafs Nation a bit of hope...albeit for a short time.

The Devils were of no help either - dropping a 3-1 decision to the Lightning...who with that win may now be out of Toronto's reach. Martin Brodeur...meh!

So the Maple Leafs go into Buffalo tonight desperately needing a win - given that they are playing a home and home with the Sabres, Leafs Nation would gladly accept a three point weekend and move on. Seriously...we could really use some good Hazel Karma this weekend.

HAZEL'S THREE STARS
Our choices are limited today, because we are ignoring the results of the four games we mentioned earlier, and you know the rule about the SenaTards - there is NO WAY we are going to highlight any of them.

San Jose Sharks RW Johnathan Cheechoo had three goals and an assist in a 5-1 pounding of the Thrashers in Atlanta last night.

Minnesota Wild RW Marian Gaborik had two goals and an assist in last night's win over St. Louis - good for the Three Play.

Columbus Blue Jackets G Frederik Norrena stopped 35 shots in regulation/overtime to help the Jackets in the game long enough to win in a shootout against the Red Wings in Detroit last night. Didn't we tell you yesterday morning that Columbus was a good upset pick?

FRIDAY THREE PLAY

We went 2-1 last night and wound up $90 in the red for our trouble - leaving our total for the week at + $460. We'll be back later with suggestions for tonight.

That's it for this morning gang. Have a great one peeps.

HAZEL'S FRIDAY HOROSCOPE

Walk around, talk to people and find out what's going on in your community or workplace. You'll gather valuable information -- resources to work with as time passes. The knowledge you gather today will determine future decisions. 4 stars

Hazel, I hope things are groovy in your world.

Song of the Day on Hazelspeeps - for the Leafs
