Morning Notes
Hey Peeps and anyone else checking in. A special "Hey" goes out to Hazel Mae.
On behalf of Leafs Nation, let me be the first to say "Thanks for nothing Philadelphia Flyers". The Flyers were wiped out by the New York Rangers last night - how bad was it? The Flyers only managed 17 shots on the Rangers - if that wasn't bad enough, Philadelphia "sorta tough guy" Todd Fedoruk was carried off on a stretcher for the SECOND time this season as a result of being dusted in a fight. Last night it was Rangers tough guy Coulton Orr who knocked Fedoruk senseless with a right cross that hit the button. It is time for Fedoruk to think about hanging up the gloves - when you are knocked out twice in one season (with one of the fight resulted in plates being put into your face to rebuild it)...its time to hang em up.
Last night it was the Rangers, tonight Leafs Nation will be hoping that Ovechkin and the Caps can somehow find a way to get it done against the Carolina Hurricanes in Raleigh tonight - we aren't holding our breath though. Kolzig and Ovechkin vs the former Stanley Cup Champs who are struggling to make the playoffs is hardly a fair fight. We're hoping for a big game from Kolzig tonight. We'd like to think that Crosby and the Pens will take care of the Islanders in NY tonight.
HAZEL'S THREE STARS
Dallas Stars C Mike Ribeiro scored a goal last night in a 4-2 win over the Los Angeles Kings - if you have been here before, you know they rules; if you haven't, I'll make it simple for you. If you are a Portuguese kid and you have a good game - you are one of Hazel's Stars....SAYS ME!
San Jose Sharks C Joe Thornton had three assists in a 4-1 victory over the Blackhawks in Chicago last night.
Vancouver Canucks G Roberto Luongo stopped all 20 shots directed at him by the Nashville Predators last night leading the Canucks to a 3-0 victory.
THURSDAY THREE PLAY
Another 3-0 night last night bringing our total to $550 for the week - I took my three play and actually put down a few pieces of whale blubber on a Pro-Line ticket...it wasn't a huge payout, but still good to win. Tonight's suggestions - we are going with the favourites (while we'd like to suggest Carolina, we can't do it in good conscience since we are hoping Hazel Karma messes the Canes up tonight).
Anaheim over Phoenix - no explanation needed. Lay $100 on the Ducks - $240.
Calgary over Nashville - the Predators are banged and are coming off a tough game in Vancouver last night, the Flames have the Avs right on their tales so they need this game. Lay $100 on the Flames - $145.
Minnesota over St. Louis - The Wild need the two points and they aren't likely to let up against a Blues team that has been playing better of late (they should have been the SenaTards the other night). Lay $50 on the Wild - $290.
Bonus pick...if you want to get ballsy, take Columbus over Detroit; the Wings are banged up and are coming off a Western swing, that usually means a loss in your first game back at home.
KEEPING HAZEL UP ON WHAT'S WHAT IN TORONTO
Is Antropov turning into the player Leafs Nation has always hoped for?
