Happy St. Patrick's Day

Hey Peeps and anyone else checking in. A special "Hey" goes out to Hazel Mae.

March 17th, St. Patrick's Day - a holy day in Ireland, where the faithful attend church and reflect on the country's patron saint; in North America, it is a drunk fest where thousands of first time drunks will introduce themselves to drinking establishments across the continent. I'll spare everybody the rant on the Maple Leafs loss last night to the woeful Washington Capitals - a disgrace, an embarassment, a woeful display by a team that is fighting for a playoff spot; but on this holy day, we'll look for divine intervention in Montreal tonight (and a healthy dose of Hazel Karma). A win tonight in Montreal and Leafs Nation can forget last night's debacle and move on to think about Cam Janssen visiting the ACC on Tuesday night. Note to the Boston Bruins - just win in New York tonight...PLEASE.

HAZEL'S THREE STARS
Oshawa Generals C John Tavares (he's been mentioned on this page before) reached an impressive milestone last night in Ottawa. Tavares' scored two goals, giving him 71 on the season, as his Generals lost 7-4 to the 67s. Tavares' 71st goal broke Wayne Gretzky's record for most goals in a season by a 16 year old. Not bad for a Portuguese kid huh?

Pittsburgh Penguins C Erik Christensen had two goals to lead the Penguins to a 6-3 win over the Montreal Canadiens. Good for last night's Three Play and good for the Leafs.

Atlanta Thrashers G Johan Hedberg stopped 38 shots in a 2-1 overtime victory over the Rangers - from a Leafs Nation perspective, we hate the fact the Rangers picked up a point...but on the other hand, it could have been worse.

SATURDAY THREE PLAY

We broke even last night, which is ok - except for the fact Toronto lost; so our total for the week remains at + $415. We'll get back on track tonight.

Ottawa over Philadelphia - Tards won't drop this one as they look to jump back into fourth over the Penguins. Lay $100 on the Tards - $380.

Florida over NY Islanders - this isn't just a wish pick (yes we would like to see the Isles drop one) - without DiPietro in goal, the Islanders are a below avg team. Belfour let Leafs Nation down the other night - we think he'll make up for it tonight. Lay $75 on Florida -$150.

Toronto over Montreal - last time we go with the Leafs. We are going to look for them to respond in a must win game against a Habs team that is bruised and battered. Lay $100 on the Maple Leafs - $110.

That's it for today gang...have a great one peeps. Happy St. Patrick's Day to you.
