Renee Unplugged - 2007 Red Sox

Hey guys don't miss the 5th chapter of my uncensored weekly rants out Sat. Nite...

The 2007 Red Sox are taking shape and there were a couple additions added today as well
as a HUGE trade rumor involving one of the Red Sox starters.

Okay I fucking blew it! I predicted Daisuke Matsuzaka would not sign with the Red Sox and he did obviously. More later.

RED SOX RUMOR MILL

MATSUZAKA TRANSLATOR WILL BE REPLACED
Yep. The Boston Red Sox were heavily ripped by all the media and fans over Daisuke Matsuzaka's interpretor falsely translating for the colorful Japanese ace. It was clear that even in Japanese Dice Man was saying something colorful and his interpretor was giving bland vague interpretations. The Japanese media told the Red Sox and American reporters that Dice's
interpretor was not translating properly and ruined Dice's first impression to the media and fans.

Even Dice looked puzzeled because no one was laughing after his words were translated. I am hearing that the Red Sox brass are talking to Matsuzaka about switching translators (he has to be happy) and that the Red Sox would like to get Chang Lee who interpreted for Hideo Nomo and BK Kim.

RED SOX TO TRADE BECKETT FOR A CLOSER?
FOX SPORTS-Ken Rosenthal reporting that the Red Sox are willing to trade SP Josh Beckett for a top closer.

The Red Sox can replace Beckett with Roger Clemens according to the rumor.

MY TAKE: I'm not buying this rumor. I'm guessing the closer will come from a trade package involving OF CoCo Crisp and a couple prospects. The Red Sox can sign Clemens anyway.

BOSOX ADD TWO TO THEIR BULLPEN
Today Boston traded LRP Phil Seibel to the LA Angels for RRP Brendan Donnelly and signed FA LRP JC Romero.

Donnelly is a good setup pitcher with solid numbers out of the pen. JC Romero was sought after by the Red Sox 2 years ago.

CLEMENS TO BOSTON?
I definitely think this will happen. If for any reason to keep him out of the Yankees staff.

The Sox would then put Tim Wakefield in the bullpen and that would be huge. Picture having Clemens-Schilling-Beckett-Matsuzaka-Papelbon who throw big heat. Then bring in Wake tossing up knuckleballs and hitters timing will be so off.

Now from a merchandise sale? Clemens and Matsuzaka's stuff would break records.
