Playoffs Start Early

Hey Peeps and anyone else checking in. A special "Hey" goes out to Hazel Mae.

As the NFL heads into Week 15 of the regular season - the Hazel Mae Football League on yahoo moves into the playoffs.

Semi-Final 1
Tina's Team - owned by our girl Tina who rode Tony Romo to first place in the standings.
vs
Jack O'Lantern - owned by our resident Steinbrenner Hubie who surprised everyone with a late season surge.

Prediction - Tina's Team comes up big and blows out Hubie's boys.

Semi-Final 2
Fighting Bobcats - owned by Commish Drisc who will be relying on L.T. to carry him to the final
vs
Ageswimmer - owned by Bushey, and that's all we know.

Prediction - Commish meets Tina for the final dance.

While the football pool winds down, the Hazel Hockey League is starting to heat up one-third of the way through the NHL Season. The standings haven't changed much in terms of placement - but the points gap is starting to tighten up. Standing for the week ending December 11.

57.0 - Skating Bobcats - Owned by Drisc, who has both eyes on being the first double winner in Hazelspeeps pools.

51.5 - Weekend Warriors - Owned by Bakerboy Chris, who stepped up this week on Hazelspeeps.

49.0 - Double DD Bandits - Owned by Hubie, who would be flat broke if he had to pay for roster moves.

37.5 - Hazel's Maeple Leafs - Owned by El Presidente, who wants to forget there was a football pool this year.

34.0 - Ice Bitches - Owned by your second favourite sports babe Renee, who's strategy seems to be to hoard goalies.

23.0 - Hanson Brothers - Owned by Sparky, who is still holding on to the title of Inaugural winner of the Hazelpeeps Fantasy Baseball Pool.

HAZEL'S CHAMPS - CONTINUED
In last night's entry, I mentioned that there may have been a few people I may have missed - and I got called on it today. A dude who is originally from Calgary, now living in St. Louis, wrote to ask how I could forget to name Brett Hull as one of Hazel's Champs (Hull had his jersey retired by the Blues last week). Hull scored 741 goals and 650 assists in 1296 games - he also added 103 playoff goals en route to winning two Stanley Cups. So thank you Terry for pointing out my oversight...and I'll be sure to pass your question on to Renee.

PEOPLE I'D LIKE TO PUNCH
I likely won't ever get the chance to punch him in person - so I took great pleasure in watching that crazy cowboy walk up on stage and drop self-proclaimed comedian Pauly Shore during an appearance at a comedy club in Texas. The video is on google and it is absolutely hysterical - the look of terror on Shore's face as he was apologizing, just before getting dropped - was priceless. Watching him storm off stage telling the crowd off was icing on the cake. That cowboy is definitely going to be one of Hazel's Champs next week.

That's it for tonight - time to go make my NFL picks for the upcoming week. Have a great one peeps!

Hazel, I hope things are groovy in your world.

Song of the Day on Hazelspeeps - for Tina, Drisc, Hubie and Bushey who square off this week in the playoffs in the fantasy football pool
