Hey Everyone - been following the winter meetings? I have.

BIGGEST WINNER AT THE WINTER MEETINGS?
Without a doubt agent Scott Boras. Boras represented all the big names and mediocre names
and drove the market value to sickening highs. JD Drew case in point.

Think about this guys: After Boras's 2008 clients have inked deals? Boras will make more money in agent fees and contract pecentage cash than what the KC Royals and Fla. Marlins pay their players-COMBINED!


THE RED SOX STILL PURSUING GAGNE AS CLOSER
Eric Gagne's agent Scott Boras put te asking price at the injured Gagne at $5 million a year. OBVIOUSLY that price will come down by the weekend. As I stated last night I predict the Red Sox will sign Eric Gagne and probably will bridge a deal at $2.25 Million with reachable incentives if Gagne can stay healthy to get them.

The Red Sox passed on closer Joe Borowski. So the only other alternative is to get a closer via
trade which still could happen.


MANNY TRADE TO LA
Again like I said last night-even though the Manchild doesnt get dealt before the deadline-a deal can still get done up until the start of the season.

SIGNINGS...
C-MIKE PIAZZA signs a 1 year deal with the A's as a DH. Piazza will thrive as a DH and catch a
few here and there too. Good signing for Oakland....

SP-JASON SCHMIDT to the Dodgers. A younger upgrade than Greg Maddux who signed with SD. The Red Sox West have one of the best if not the best rotation in the NL if they can keep Brad Penny...

SP-TED LILLY torn between the Cubs and Yanks. Lilly I think will go to the Cubs. The Yanks have a rotation of Johnson-Mussina-Wang-Igawa and will add Andy Pettite as well as the
rookie starter they acquired from Detroit in the Sheffield deal. Plus they should finally have Carl Pavano healthy for 2007.....

ANDY PETTITE? Yankees...

BARRY ZITO I think will land in Texas...

BIG RUSH OF PRE CHRISTMAS SIGNINGS
Expect all the mid to lower tier players to ink deals prior to Christmas. They get that big signing bonus the wives can use for Christmas shopping. I shit you not guys. As rich as these motherfuckers are-they have nagging wives with spoiled kids at homes telling them they need MORE money-of course the players hot young mistresses are wanting more money too to shut up about their affair and love child.
