The Good, The Bad, & The Sad

Hey Peeps and anyone else checking in. A special "Hey" goes out to Hazel Mae.

The Bruins came into Ottawa and handed it to the Tards last night - which I'm guessing had to bring a smile to Hazel's face. The Bruins dominated the SenaTards last night in every facet of the game in a 7-2 beat down at Scotiabank Place. Things were so bad for the Tards last night - that the idiots known here as "Sens Army" made more noise in booing Zdeno Chara than they did when the Tards scored a couple of meaningless goals. The Tards getting humiliated at home - that's GOOD.

The Maple Leafs three game win streak is over after losing to the Florida Panthers last night - which I'm guessing didn't sit too well with Hazel. The Leafs had it handed to them by the Panthers - to make things worse, former Maple Leafs Gary Roberts and Ed Belfour both had big nights against the Buds. That's BAD

Word out of Boston is that the deal with free agent J.D. Drew hasn't yet been finalized due to concerns with the strength of Drew's shoulder. While Red Sox Nation is rejoicing with this latest development, I have one question to ask of all of you - "Are you friggin serious?" Do people in Boston really think that the Sox are going to pull out of this deal? Come on people, get real - Theo Epstein and the Sox aren't going to nix this deal...it would be a complete embarrassment. I've heard it suggested that Theo Esptein gave Drew the deal, to ease negotiations with Daisuke Matsuzaka; both of whom are represented by Scott Boras.

Really, get real gang - do you really think that Theo Epstein could pull one over on Boras? Do you really think Epstein would reach a preliminary agreement with Drew and take all the crap from the media, in order to sign Matsuzaka? I'm going to say "no" to both.

If this deal doesn't get done its time to start worrying about your wonderkid in Boston. If he made a deal with Drew, and was ready to commit all that money without being totally sure that the guy was 100% - that doesn't look too good on him. It would show him to be more of a joke than a shrewd GM...there are too many negatives that get attributed to Epstein and the Red Sox Management Team if the deal doesn't get down. Oh the drama in Boston.

I've got to get to work, so we'll revisit this topic later - I say this knowing full well that my pal Renee might email me today with a scoop on this one. But for now I'm saying that the deal is going to go through...enjoy J.D. Drew Red Sox Nation.

HAZEL'S THREE STARS
We so thoroughly enjoyed the Bruins/SenaTards game last night, that we have to award two stars - Bruins LW Marco Sturm had a hat-trick last night, while Patrice Bergeron had FIVE assists. These two should be getting some play on The Buzz next week.

New York Islanders LW Jason Blake also had a hat-trick last night to lead the Isles 4-3 win over their cross town rivals the New York Rangers.

Colorado Avalanche LW Andrew Brunette had a hat-trick to lead the Avs to a 7-6 in a wild win over the Edmonton Oilers last night.

They say chicks dig the long ball...I bet they dig the goal scorers too.

WEDNESDAY THREE PLAY
Well, last night was one of those frustrating nights; going 2-1 and still winding up $25 in the red, to bring out total for the week down a bit to + $125. A light night in the NHL tonight, so we'll go with two picks:

Detroit over Columbus - the second in a home and home series where the Blue Jackets won the first, thanks to an awful performance by Dominic Hasek. Expect things to be a little different tonight; lay $50 on the Red Wings - $280.

Anaheim over Dallas - the Stars just can't seem to get it done against some of the league's elite teams; the price on Anaheim is good, so play them when you are getting a bargain. Lay $50 on the Ducks - $130.

That's it for this morning gang. Have a great one peeps!

HAZEL'S WEDNESDAY HOROSCOPE
Be a participant today or you will be left out when it comes to decisions that could affect your financial position. Avoid getting too close to someone you work with. Keep your secrets to yourself but be a team player at the same time. 5 stars

Hazel, I hope things are groovy in your world.
