Tough Night All Around

Hey Peeps and anyone else checking in. A special "Hey" goes out to Hazel Mae.

A couple of shockers last night in the NHL - the heavily favoured Stars and Ducks both lost to teams they should be beating with relative ease; which really kicked out three play in the teeth last night. Oh yeah, the SenaTards won too, so their fans think they are back on track for the Cup.

On a good note - Portugal beat Kazakhstan by a 3-0 count in Coimbra yesterday. Simao Sabrosa scored two goals and Cristiano Ronaldo added another - Portugal sits fourth in their group, but they have a game in hand and its still early. Translation: They will make Euro 2008, and Renee will have to suffer through another international soccer tournament with me.

HAZEL'S THREE STARS

Portugal winger Simao Sabrosa scored two last night to lead the Quinas to the win. We don't know if Hazel follows soccer - but if she did, we'd like to think she'd wear the shields.

Boston's Patrice Bergeron scored the lone goal in the shootout to give the Bruins a 3-2 victory over Washington last night. I know, a shootout goal gets you a star? Well, this is "Thoughts of Hazel Mae" we have to show the Bruins some love sometime...you know, the Buzz and all?

New York Islanders G Rick "15 year man" DiPietro stopped all 31 Dallas shots in 3-0 win last night. It sucked for the three play, but you have to give him credit.


THURSDAY'S THREE PLAY
The good news is that if you were here from day one, we'd still be up a little bit - the bad news, is that we are - $330 for the week. We'll get back on track tonight.

Edmonton over St. Louis - Oilers are coming off an unsuccessful road trip and are missing C Ryan Smyth, but I think they will get it done tonight against the Blues. Lay $50 on the Oilers - $240.

Phoenix over Chicago - I know I'm nuts picking this game - but Phoenix has to win sometime. Lay $50 on the Coyotes -$140.
