Good Day For Leaf Nation

Hey Peeps and anyone else checking in. A special "Hey" goes out to Hazel Mae.

The Toronto Maple Leafs announced yesterday that they had re-signed C Kyle Wellwood to a two-year deal, as well as re-signing defencement Carlo Colaiaccavo, Brendan Bell and Jay Harrison to one-year deals. Four young players being signed in one day - Leaf Nation hasn't seen this in years; two of the three aforementioned defencemen are expected to lock up the last two spots on Toronto's blue line.

Toronto is also expected to announce that they have reached a one-year deal with C Michael Peca that will pay him approximately $2.5 M. The signing of Peca likely means the end of the Jason Allison experiment in Toronto, which is a good thing for all involved. Reports indicate that Eric Lindros has reached an agreement with the Dallas Stars - I am going to miss Lindros, it was kind of nice to see a player that wanted to wear the uniform as much as he did. Lindros was a factor when he was in uniform, the unfortunate thing was that he spent a lot of time on IR.
