Monday Morning Quick Hits

Hey Peeps and anyone else checking in. A special "Hey" goes out to Hazel Mae.

The FIFA Under-20 World Cup Draw was held Saturday in Toronto - Portugal was drawn into group C with New Zealand, Zambia and Mexico and will be based in Toronto. As with last year's World Cup, Mexico poses the only real problem in this group - but I'm confident that we'll take it down this July. Canada was drawn into group A with Chile, Austria and Congo and will be based out of Edmonton. Let me be the first (and probably the only person) to invite Hazel back home this summer to watch a little World Cup Soccer.

Could someone PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, tell the damn Boston Bruins that they are not going to make the playoffs? I pronounced them dead a couple of weeks ago - but they keep hanging around. Boston beat the Devils last night by a count of 4-1 to pull within four points of a playoff spot. I still think they are done though...

We'll try to take a look at some of the signings in the NFL this weekend - a great signing by New England, picking up LB Adalius Thomas; and a bit of a head scratcher with San Francisco dumping a boat load of cash on Nate Clements. I understand wanting to sign Clements...but for THAT much money?

HAZEL'S THREE STARS
Boston Bruins G Joey MacDonald stopped 26 of 27 shots in a 4-1 victory over New Jersey yesterday...I guess the Devils are missing Cam Janssen more than they thought they would.

Atlanta Thrashers LW Marian Hossa had two goals in a 3-1 victory over Carolina - keeping the Canes within striking distance.

San Jose Sharks G Evgeni Nabokov stopped all 26 shots he faced, leading the Sharks to a 4-0 shutout win over the Dallas Stars.

We'll be back later with the Hazies...and some links to keep Hazel up on what's what in Toronto.
Have a great one peeps!

HAZEL'S MONDAY HOROSCOPE

Organization will be what counts if you want to fit as much into your day as possible. You will learn something very important by watching the way others do things. Your passionate nature will attract people who support your efforts. 3 stars

Hazel, I hope things are groovy in your world.

Song of the Day on Hazelspeeps - I attended a baptism yesterday...if you have ever attended celebration for this sacrament put on by Portuguese or Italian hosts (in my case...it was both; my cousin married an Italian girl - ugh, kidding "B") you know why I'm choosing this song.

I Got Loaded - Los Lobos

Peesth Out...Buh Bye!
