10+ Days = 3 Games to Colin Campbell

Hey Peeps and anyone else checking in. A special "Hey" goes out to Hazel Mae.

Tough game last night at the ACC - but we'll discuss that later. I'll take my lumps.

This morning we are going to talk about the joke that is the NHL - Colin Campbell ruled yesterday that New Jersey Devils punk Cam Janssens would have to serve a three game suspension for his cowardly hit on Tomas Kaberle on Friday night. The New Jersey Devils were saying all the right things yesterday, about accepting the decision on moving on - sure, its great for the Devils; they lose three to four minutes a night from a player who hasn't been able to stick with big team for any length of time - and truth be told, the ONLY reason he is there is because New Jersey has cap issues. Meanwhile, Toronto loses their best defenceman for at least the next ten days, a major hit for a team scrapping to make the playoffs. So, to NHL apologists like Damien Cox of the Toronto Star and Pierre McGuire of TSN, who think fighting has no place in the game, I say this - do you think this is a fair and equitable solution? In the NHL that these two would like to see, there would be NO retribution on the Devils for that hit - in their world, suspending a bit player for three games is adequate punishment and everyone should just move on. Lost in the Janssens hit, was the cheap shot Colin White took on Mats Sundin - which we won't get into.

The Devils visit the ACC on March 20th - I don't see Claude Julien dressing Cam Janssens for the game, and that is fine; because if I'm Paul Maurice, I'm not going to waste a message on a meathead like Cam Janssens - getting back at Janssens and knocking him out for 10+ days would hurt the Devils as much as losing a bunch of water bottles. If I'm Paul Maurice, I would stress the importance of "finishing our checks" ESPECIALLY on guys like Brian Rafalski, Zach Parise, Patrik Elias and all of New Jersey's skilled players. The forward lines would be instructed to hit Ralfalski EVERY single time he touches the puck - finish the check on him, and make him think about Cam Janssens when he is being pummelled all night. The defence would be told to take out their forwards when they come cruising along the middle - body first, puck second.

The Maple Leafs have to send the Devils a message on the 20th - irregardless of what the NHL apologists say.

SUNDAY THREE PLAY
Nashvile beat up on the Kings yesterday to leave our total for the week at + $280. Two easy picks today

Pittsburgh over Philadelphia - no brainer. Lay $75 on the Pens - $290.

Ottawa over Chicago - same. Lay $100 on the SenaTards - $230.

That's about it for this morning gang - back later with more.
