Blue & White Day Baby!

Hey Peeps and anyone else checking in. A special "Hey" goes out to Hazel Mae.

A big night for teams wearing the beloved blue and white - and most of your reading probably don't care about either!

The little team that has/could and will again - FC Porto - pay a visit to their former Manager Jose Mourinho, as they take on Chelsea in the second leg of the knockout phase of the European Champions League. The first game, played at the "Estadio dou Dragao" two weeks ago, ended in a 1-1 tie - meaning Porto will have to win today in London, or tie with 2 goals or more. A 1-1 tie would force extra time and perhaps penalty kicks. But we are going to call for a shocker today - Ricardo Quaresma scores as Porto stuns London and beats heavily favoured Chelsea and Stamford Bridge by a 2-1 score today. You read it here first.

The Toronto Maple Leafs will host Alex Ovechkin and the Washington Capitals at the ACC tonight - and they'll be in tough without their top two defenceman; yes, I'm still harping on Tomas Kaberle being taken out with that cheap shot delivered by Cam Janssen. The Leafs will be looking to Ian White and Carlo Colaiacovo to step up and fill in for Kaberle and Kubina tonight. It has been a while since Captain Mats Sundin has asserted himself in a game - so tonight is as good as any. Just in case though...we're still calling on Hazel Karma to get us through tonight. They are all must wins now...c'mon Hazel, send that good karma up to the Hanger!

In other games of note tonight - we'll be looking for the Colorado Avalanche to slap the Bruins back to reality tonight and remind them that they should be bowing out of the playoff race in the Eastern Conference. Colorado has been getting exceptional goaltending from Peter Budaj lately...so we'll be pulling for the kid to come up big at the TD Banknorth Garden tonight...sorry guys, its nothing personal - its just the playoffs.

Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin pay a visit up here as they face off against the SenaTards tonight at the Scotiabank Place - the Tards have blown two goal leads in their last two games...that doesn't bode well against the Penguins; especially with SenaTard killer, Gary Roberts suiting up for the black and yellow (its not gold...its friggin yellow). You know we'll be watching intently tonight...hoping that the Pens slap the Tards around.

New Jersey is in tough tonight - having to deal with the suspension of their budding superstore Cam Janssen as they visit the Flyers tonight in Philadelphia.

In an interesting development out of Montreal - the Montreal media published reports citing transcripts of an interview Habs Winger Alexei Kovalev did with a Russian radio station, in which the Russian star crapped all over his team and the Habs organization. Oh, I'm going to love watching this one unfold - I'm sure Kovalev will respond with an outstanding performance in his next game...leading Montreal to a win...but this is it - the Habs are toast now.

HAZEL'S THREE STARS
Since last night's Hazies didn't touch on the NHL...we'll go with the NHL's Three Stars of the Week.

Atlanta Thrashers G Kari Lehtonen was named the NHL's First Star of the Week after leading his team to a 3-0 record, posting a GAA of 1.67 and a save percentage of .940. Not what Leaf Nation wants to see right now...

Florida Panthers C Olli Jokinen was named the Second Star of the Week, scoring five goals and adding an assist in three games last week. He's doing his best to drag the Panthers into playoff contention - another guy who doesn't listen to us here.

Colorado Avalanche G Peter Budaj was named the Third Star of the Week for going 3-0 with a GAA of 1.97 and a save percentage of .926. We're hoping Peter continues his hot play tonight in Boston.

TUESDAY THREE PLAY

We start the week off at - $1,080 for the season - but we've been making up ground in the last couple of weeks. We didn't make it back in time yesterday to suggest the Rangers as the play of the day...oh well. Tonight's suggested plays:

Calgary over St. Louis - there isn't much in St. Louis right now, so we expect the Flames to take advantage and pull out a win on the road. Lay $100 on Calgary - $165.

New Jersey over Philadelphia - the Devils will adapt and overcome the devastating loss of Cam Janssen. Lay $50 on the Devils - $200.

We'll leave it at that for now...might update later.

That's about it for this morning gang - have a great one peeps.

KEEPING HAZEL UP ON WHAT'S WHAT IN TORONTO

The NHL to look At head shots - Ya Right

Kaberle could be out for a while

HAZEL'S TUESDAY HOROSCOPE
Make this an action-packed day. Romance is on the rise. Contact someone from your past if want to reconnect. Be powerful in your actions and take back what's yours. 3 stars

Hazel, I hope things are groovy in your world.

Song of the Day on Hazelspeeps - for Champions League play today

A Portuguesa - Portuguese National Anthem
Heroes of the sea, noble race,
Valiant and immortal nation,
Now is the hour to raise up on high once more
Portugal's splendour.
From out of the mists of memory,
Oh Homeland, we hear the voices
Of your great forefathers
That shall lead you on to victory!

CHORUS:
To arms, to arms
On land and sea!
To arms, to arms
To fight for our Homeland!
To march against the enemy guns!

Unfurl the unconquerable flag
In the bright light of your sky!
Cry out all Europe and the whole world
That Portugal has not perished.
Your happy land is kissed
By the Ocean that murmurs with love.
And your conquering arm
Has given new worlds to the world!

CHORUS

Salute the Sun that rises
On a smiling future:
Let the echo of an insult be
The signal for our revival.
The rays of that powerful dawn
Are like a mother's kisses
That protect us and support us
Against the insults of fate.

CHORUS

Peesth Out...Buh Bye!
