Remembering 1967

Hey Peeps and anyone else checking in. A special "Hey" goes out to Hazel Mae.

Big night at the ACC tonight - the kind of night Hazel would probably want to be in attendance at - as the Toronto Maple Leafs honour the 1967 Maple Leafs, the last Toronto team to win the Stanley Cup. The big news out of Toronto is that former Captain Dave Keon (my first favourite Maple Leafs player, with Salming being the ultimate Leaf) will end his self-imposed exile to participate in the festivities; sad thing is that there are rumours that he is being paid to be there tonight.

The Leafs host the Oilers tonight (I had Philly and Boston on the brain yesterday when I said Toronto's next two were against them) and can pretty much put an end to their season with a win. Andrew Raycroft will start his 20th consecutive game tonight setting a record for most consecutive starts by a Maple Leafs goalie - we'll need him to come up big tonight; another dominating performance by Mats Sundin wouldn't hurt either. So with the festivities are the ACC tonight, Leaf Nation is looking for a little bit of Hazel Karma as we march towards the playoffs - she may not be there tonight, but we'd like to think she'll be there in spirit.

We'll be back later with more on tonight's games - it goes without saying we'll have our eye on Carolina and Montreal tonight.

HAZEL'S THREE STARS
Tough picking today's stars since they all had a hand in screwing yesterday's Three Play - but we try to be objective here.

Columbus Blue Jackets G Fredrik Norrena made 29 saves last night as the Jackets stunned Joe Thornton and that Sharks in a 3-0 shutout win.

Pittsburgh Penguins LW Jarkko Ruutu had two goals to lead the red-hot Penguins to a 5-4 victory over a shell-shocked Martin Brodeur and the New Jersey Devils.

St. Louis Blues RW Bill Guerin scored a beauty last night - the only goal of the game - in a 1-0 win over the Nashville Predators.

SATURDAY THREE PLAY

We blew up last night - and blew most of the bankroll in the process. We stand at + $80 for the week - we'll get back on track today.

New York Rangers over Philadelphia - with or without Forsberg, the Flyers are not going to get it done today, the Rangers are hot right now and are playing inspired hockey. Lay $100 on the Rangers - $275

Nashville over Minnesota - Forsberg's first game for the Predators, expect them to come out flying - even though they are coming off a loss last night. Lay $100 on the Preds - $220.

Toronto over Edmonton - have I mentioned Hazel Karma today? Lay $75 on the Maple Leafs - $145.

KEEPING HAZEL UP ON WHAT'S WHAT IN TORONTO

Burnett plans to stay healthy - ah huh

That's about it for this morning gang...have a great one peeps.

HAZEL'S SATURDAY HOROSCOPE
It may be difficult for you to contain your thoughts, but keep things to yourself today. The more observant you are, the better your chance to make the right decision. The information you discover will help put you in a challenging and competitive position. 4 stars

Hazel, I hope things are groovy in your world - hope you tune into Leafs game tonight.

Song of the Day on Hazelspeeps - I'm really pissed right now, I couldn't get a ticket to see The Police at the ACC in July. My favourite band and I get shut out...no friggin justice in this world. So if anyone can score tickets for me...

Message In A Bottle - The Police

I'll send an SOS to the world
