Sister Hazel

Hey Peeps and anyone else checking in. A special "Valentine's Day Hey" goes out to Hazel Mae.

Well, I said it yesterday - last night's game at the ACC was a big one, and unfortunately the Maple Leafs dropped a 3-2 decision in a shootout to a team they should have beaten. Toronto outplayed, out-hit, and outshot the Islanders, they just couldn't outscore them. Toronto now sits tied with the Islanders for 9th spot with 62 points - two points behind the floundering Habs who fell 1-0 to Floriday. I said it yesterday and I believe it more today - Montreal is dead in the water.

A shooutout loss is like a tie in the new NHL - and the old adage is that "A tie is like kissing your sister" - well today, millions of members of Leaf Nation are willing to be Hazel's adopted brother.

The Edmonton Oilers can pretty much kiss their chances of participating in this year's NHL Playoffs goodbye, after turning in a lacklustre performance in a 3-0 loss to the Bruins at the Banknorth Garden last night - since we don't get NESN here, we don't know if Hazel was in the stands...hmmm, maybe she was and maybe that's why the Leafs lost last night. Things that make you go hmmmmm

HAZEL'S THREE STARS
Boston Bruins RW Brandon Bochenski had a goal and two assists in the win over Edmonton last night - yes, I know that Tim Thomas and Marco Sturm were named the game's first two stars...let's just say that someone who may be checking in here is looking for to highlight Bochenski's performance (happy Renee?????)

Tampa Bay Lightning C Vincent Lecavalier had two goals and an assist in a 5-3 victory over the Phoenix Coyotes last night - good for the Three Play...bad for the Maple Leafs.

San Jose Sharks RW Johnathan Cheechoo had a goal and three assists in a 6-5 victory over St. Louis last night - tough night for Bill Guerin, three goals in a loss.

WEDNESDAY'S THREE PLAY
We started off the week on great note - picking all three of our games. Our total for the week stands at a very nice + $275 - we'll keep it going tonight.

Pittsburgh over Chicago - Blackhawks have had a great road trip, but its time for them to realize that they are the Blackhawks. Lay $100 on the Penguins - $230.

Ottawa over Florida - the SenaTards are missing Ray Emery, but Florida is coming off a tough one in Montreal last night. Lay $50 on the SenaTards - $285.

New Jersey over Montreal - this one is a little scary, but it sets up as the kind of game the Habs will win...you know that old crap about rising up on the road? Well, I'm going to say that Brodeur shuts the door on them - he had his bad game for the month against Tampa last week. Lay $75 on New Jersey - $200.

That's about it for this morning gang...have a great one peeps.

KEEPING HAZEL UP ON WHAT'S WHAT IN TORONTO

Damn $15 Million dollar man

Surprise Surprise - guess who is giddy over last night's loss?

Dads join Leafs in Philly

Love test for Hazel - relax, its about love of Toronto sports

Again with the Dutch guy

More to come later...

HAZEL'S VALENTINE DAY HOROSCOPE

Look for a way out of a situation that isn't working for you. There will be plenty going on behind the scenes so keep your eyes peeled for any misdoing. Don't get involved in gossip or rumors. 2 stars

Hazel, I hope things are groovy in your world and that you have a great day.

Song of the Day on Hazelspeeps - dudes, play this one for your special girl today

Big Log - Robert Plant

My love is in league with the freeway
Its passion will ride, as the cities fly by
And the tail-lights dissolve, in the coming of night
And the questions in thousands take flight

My love is a-miles in the waiting
The eyes that just stare, and the glance at the clock
And the secret that burns, and the pain that grows dark
And it's you once again
Leading me on - leading me down the road
Driving beyond - driving me down the road

My love is exceedingly vivid
Red-eyed and fevered with the hum of the miles
Distance and longing, my thoughts do provide
Should I rest for a while at the side
Your love is cradled in knowing
Eyes in the mirror, still expecting they'll come
Sensing too well when the journey is done
There is no turning back - no
There is no turning back - on the run
My love is in league with the freeway
Oh the freeway, and the coming of night-time
My love is in league with the freeway

Peesth Out...Buh Bye!
