Hazel At The Garden????

Hey Peeps and anyone else checking in. A very special "Hey" goes out to Hazel Mae.

Well, we don't know if Hazel was at the Banknorth Garden last night - but we'd like to think that she sent her good karma to the visitors' dressing room last night - spurring on the Leafs to a 10-2 spanking of the Boston Bruins last night. She probably can't been seen publicly rooting for the Buds - but we in Leaf Nation like to think she is still in the fold. I guess the Herald and Renee are right - Tim Thomas is NOT the answer in Boston...the Mike O'Connell hangover continues in New England. Hey Renee, Zdeno might not have taken your advice about starting a fight - but Shean Donovan was listening; unfortunately for Donovan he picked the wrong guy to try and vent his frustrations on as Brendan Bell handed it to him late in the game. Good luck with those mustaches Boston! I wonder Hazel's episode of The Buzz next week will be ALL ABOUT THE LEAFS!!!!!!!!!!

HAZEL'S THREE STARS
Gee, where do we start? hmmmm

Toronto Maple Leafs' LW Alexander Steen had three goals and two assists in the bloodletting at the Garden last night - it was the first hat-trick of Steen's career. Steen played his best game of the season after being reunited with Captain Mats Sundin. Honourable mention goes to youngsters Matt Stajan and John Pohl; both of whom have stepped up their games of late, especially the latter.

New York Rangers' C Martin Straka had all three goals in a 3-2 win over the Flyers. Anyone who sinks the stinking Flyers and helps the Three Play out gets plenty of play here.

Former Maple Leafs G Curtis Joseph stopped all 29 shots in Phoenix' 2-0 victory in Carolina last night. Cujo has had a tough time of it since leaving Toronto a few years back - he deserves some recognition for getting a win with that awful team in front of him.

FRIDAY'S THREE PLAY

We should have taken Toronto last night - especially after calling on Hazel to deliver some of that good karma to the Garden last night. We finished the night at + $35 after going 2-1 - the bad news is that we are still $370 in the red for the week.

We'll be back later this afternoon with Friday's suggested plays.

For those of you who had emailed me about Luis Figo leaving Inter Milan to join a Saudi Arabian team - the BBC reported this morning that Inter said they were not interested in transferring Figo and that he would remain at Inter. It would be nice to see him finish his career with a double this season - Serie A and Champions League...you know Figo comes to play in the big tournaments.

Nick Saban ran out/deserted the Dolphins a few days ago, Art Shell was fired last night, and Bill Cowher is reportedly set to retire as coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers - five new vacancies in the NFL coaching ranks - any bets on how long Romeo Crennell, Mike Shanahan and Tom Coughlan will last? I wonder how many more assistants Bill Belichick will lose this off-season?

Be sure to check out Renee's entry last night. Have a great one peeps! I'll start posting my predictions for 2007 this weekend.

HAZEL'S FRIDAY HOROSCOPE
Look for an entertaining way to spend today and you will discover something about yourself and others that will set the stage for a new adventure. Travel, socializing and learning more about something that interests you must be put into play. 5 stars

Hazel, I hope things are groovy in your world - Leaf Nation thanks you for reaching out to the Buds last night.
