Razor's Revenge

Hey Peeps and anyone else checking in. A special "Hey" goes out to Hazel Mae.

Andrew Raycroft and the Toronto Maple Leafs will be paying a visit to the TD Banknorth Garden tonight to face the Boston Bruins; however the Leafs announced yesterday that Captain Mats Sundin will miss the next three to four weeks with a partial tear of a ligament in his elbow. In recent years the Maple Leafs have responded to injury news with huge efforts - Leaf Nation expects more of the same tonight. Raycroft returns to Boston tonight with something to prove - namely, that the Bruins made a big mistake when they traded him to a division rival.

The Leafs have won five of their last six and we expect the trend to continue tonight against a Tim Thomas and the throughly underwhelming Bruins (no matter how good Hazel tries to make them look on The Buzz) - Leafs respond to the injury news on Sundin with a win. Speaking of which, it would be nice if Leaf Nation could count on a little Hazel Karma tonight - just in case.

One last thought on tonight's game, this will NOT be a repeat of last year when the Bruins went into Toronto last fall in a tailspin and managed to beat the Maple Leafs - no Joe Thornton this year. Speaking of Thornton, I wonder if Jack Edwards is still liking the trade with San Jose.

HAZEL'S THREE STARS
Slava Kozlov of the Atlanta Thrashers had a hat-trick to lead the Thrashers to a come from behind 5-4 victory over the Ottawa SenaTards. Anyone who has a big game in a victory over the Tards will get mention on this page. Marian Hossa of the Thrashers had three assists in the game - that's worth honourable mention. On a side note, this is the third game in a row that that Tards have blown leads of two goals or more - they did that TWICE last night.

Vincent Lecavalier of the Tampa Bay Lightning scored the overtime winner in a 4-3 victory over Crosby, Malkin and the Pittsburgh Penguins last night. Lecavalier is on a ten game point scoring streak and is looking like he did in 2004, when he lead the Lightning to the Stanley Cup. I would have mentioned Nils Ekman who scored three goals for Pittsburgh - but he has screwed me in my last two NHL Playoff pools...so I'm a little sour on him.

Michael Nylander of the New York Rangers had two assists and scored the only goal in a 4-3 shootout win over the Florida Panthers.

THURSDAY'S THREE PLAY
Well, I didn't get to make my picks last night - but I would have been 3-0, I picked Atlanta, Detroit and Tampa Bay on my Pro-line ticket. Oh well, even with Tuesday's tough night, we are still at +$300 over the last couple of weeks. Tonight's three play:

Dallas over Phoenix - the Stars lost a tough one in Vancouver (it cost me big on Pro-Line), but expect them to recover against Phoenix tonight. I don't think the Stars will take the Coyotes for granted tonight. Lay $50 on the Stars - $220.

New Jersey over Chicago - the Blackhawks can't seem to score any goals, which isn't a good thing when you are up against Brodeur and the Devils. Lay $25 on the Devils - $310.

Carolina over Washington - the Caps win over the Tards opened some eyes around the league; Eric Staal and the Hurricanes will be ready for the Caps tonight. Lay $25 on the Canes - $180.

That's about it for today gang - have a great one peeps!

HAZEL'S THURSDAY HOROSCOPE
If you work hard today, you can accomplish great things. Don't let your emotions stand in the way. Uncertainty regarding a financial deal should be enough of a warning to take a pass. 2 stars

Hazel, I hope things are groovy in your world - I'm guess you'll be at the Garden tonight to root on the Maple Leafs - Leaf Nation is hoping you are still one of us! Go Leafs Go!

Song of the Day on Hazelspeeps - I hear its Sisqo's birthday.

Thong Song - Sisqo

Peesth Out...Buh Bye!
