Leaf Nation Can Rest Easy Now

Hey Peeps and anyone else checking in. A special "Hey" goes out to Hazel Mae.

Canadian wire services were reporting last night that Toronto Maple Leafs D Bryan McCabe had informed league offices that he had accepted the team's offer of a five year, $5.75M/year contract offer. The only way this deal makes sense to me, is if John Ferguson Jr. packaged McCabe up and traded him to Edmonton for Chris Pronger...but we are talking about JFJ, so that isn't likely to happen. I can't believe how many bad moves this guy has made...with free agency days away, he couldn't wait a few days. Leaf Nation, I think we are going to be in for some lean years.

The quarter-finals at the World Cup start tomorrow - breakdown later tonight.
