Hope Springs Eternal In Leaf Nation

Hey Peeps and anyone else checking in. A special "Hey" goes out to Hazel Mae.

So the Leafs kept their head above water again last night with a 5-1 victory over Tampa Bay. The Leafs closed the gap between themselves and Tampa to six points; a manageable number - especially with the way Tampa has been faltering. The Bruins are pretty much dead now, after a loss on home ice to the Islanders (I wonder if Hazel took in the game) - Boston plays Toronto this week, I have to think the Leafs are going to spank them.

The New Jersey Devils were embarrassed by the Pittsburgh Penguins last night - you may (or may not) be asking yourself..."Why are you mentioning that game?" Good question; the answer is that I'm more than just a little peeved that the Devils blew this game, and my sports lottery ticket (would have been $400+).

So I heard that Vikings QB Daunte Culpepper might be traded to Oakland - and I admit I was laughing at that prospect. Well, Clark Judge say it isn't and wasn't ever even close to a deal. So the Raiders aren't going to trade for Culpepper...ok. But they could sign him when Minnesota cuts him loose.
