Say It Ain't So Barry

Hey Peeps and anyone else checking in. A special "Hey" goes out to Hazel Mae.

The news broke tonight - but the sports world will be talking about it on Weird and Whacked Wednesday - brace yourself (get it?) for the shocking news... Barry Bonds used steroids.

Sports Illustrated will publish excerpts from a tell-all book by two San Francisco writers, that details Barry Bonds' steroid use. I haven't had a chance to check out the site - you have to go, if for nothing else, to check out the picture gallery of the evolution of Barry. The number of different drugs, and the amounts he took is nothing short of staggering - its a must read.

Somewhere Rafael Palmeiro must be breathing a sigh of relief now that the focus is on Barry...Pete Rose must be making room for Barry on the "out of the Hall of Fame bench" - the sick thing is you would almost think that Bonds would relish being left out of the Hall of Fame, it would give him something else to be bitter about. Barry could milk that one for the rest of his life - it would be his post-playing day career, talking about being left out of the HoF. I wonder how long before MLB looks at stripping him of his records.

Not surprisingly...Barry isn't commenting.

You can call it whatever you want: playing desperate, playing with their backs to the wall, playing like they had nothing to lose, rising to the occasion, or my personal choice - "Hazel Karma" The Leafs beat the Habs tonight 5 - 3, and moved ahead of the Bruins to within 6 points of the Habs. The next five games will pretty much say it all - the Leafs need to win 4 of the next 5 to put some pressure on the Habs. Hazel, Leaf Nation needs you!

I've got to wrap this up early tonight - long day today...long day on tap tomorrow. Weird and Whacked Wednesday will touch on baseball, football, hockey and soccer - might be a two parter.
