I Heart Tilt

Hey Peeps and anyone else checking in. A special “Hey” goes out to Hazel Mae if she is checking in.

Tilt just checked in to share this morning’s post – turning the responsibility for Friday’s entries over to Tilt was absolutely the right decision. Since I don’t have anything half as interesting or appealing as this morning’s post – I’ll keep it brief.

THURSDAY’S THREE STARS
Red Sox West P Chad Billingsley was solid again yesterday, giving up one run on four hits and two walks, while striking out seven over seven innings in a 5-2 win over the Phillies. Strike last week’s comment about Big Blue being out of the race – we’re back baby!

Baltimore Orioles 1B Kevin Millar had two walks last night in a loss to the Twins. Millar set an Orioles record for most consecutive games reaching base safely (via hit, walk, or hit by pitch). Don’t know how many times he got plunked in setting the record, but we would have contributed to the cause by plunking him at least once – just because.

Florida Marlins LF Josh Willingham had two home runs and drove in six to help the Marlins halt a losing streak by beating the Cardinals by a score of 11-3.

FRIDAY’S THREE PLAY
Last night was a case of being lucky and unlucky. The Twins had a big inning late in the game to get us off to a good start and the Angels had a couple of brain cramps that killed us.

Speaking of unlucky – Miguel Tejada YOU SUCK. Doing your best imitation of ARod and hitting a meaningless home run in the ninth cost me a couple hundreds bucks on my Pro-line ticket. Guess the “chicken, rice and beans” really helped you out yesterday – lucky number 13 on the season huh?

Today’s suggestions:

Cleveland over Kansas City – C.C. Sabathia takes the mound against Zach Greinke today. Sabathia has been a tough luck loser over the last little while, but he’ll get it done tonight in K.C. Lay $100 on the Tribe - $180.

New York over Detroit – Tigers are struggling of late, sending Andrew Miller up against Roger Clemens and the Yankees will likely continue the trend. Clemens pitches six decent innings tonight to get the win. Lay $100 on New York - $145.

Florida over Cincinnati – a risky pick, but Aaron Harang doesn’t have good numbers against the Marlins. Dontrelle Willis is coming off his first good start in what seems like forever – here’s hoping he continues. Lay $100 on the Marlins + $130.

That’s it for today gang – thanks for taking the time to check in. Have a great one peeps.

Hazel, have a great weekend – hoping things are groovy in your world.

Out!
