Its Mother's Day so if you aren't going to see your mom today - call her. I want to wish each and every one of the women who read this page a very Happy Mother's Day - someone thinks enough of you that they see you as a Mom figure: from your boyfriends and husbands who could get along without you, to nieces and nephews who look to you as more than "just an aunt", to your dumbass male friends who look to you for guidance and support...you are all the best.

We aren't going to get into last night's action...suffice it to say its going to be a long few days here listening to the Tards Army talking about a Stanley Cup run. Thanks for nothing Buffalo.

HAZEL'S THREE STARS
Red Sox West P Brad Penny was dominant again last night against the Reds allowing one earned run in six and a third innings on four hits and a walk while striking out four. Penny's ERA is a major league best 1.39.

St. Louis Cardinals P Braden Looper did a number on the Padres last night (good for Red Sox West). Looper pitched seven shutout innings allowing just three hits and a walk while striking out seven.

Colorado Rockies P, and Canadian born, Jeff Francis did us a favour last night - pitching eight solid innings against the Asterisk and his San Francisco Giants giving up two earned runs on four hits and a walk and striking out five.


MOTHER'S DAY THREE PLAY
For those of you that emailed me saying that yesterday's Sabres pick was a bad one...ok, my bad; but 3-1 isn't all that bad you know. We still wound up + 145 on the night - bringing the week's total up to + $455...not bad for a free service huh?

Boston over Baltimore - Beckett goes 8-0 today, people will tell you he's due for a letdown...it won't be today. Lay $100 on the Sox - $255.

New York over Seattle - with apologies to Red Sox Nation, we like Pettitte and the Yankees to get it done against Horacio Ramirez and the Mariners. Lay $100 on the Bombers - $200.

Anaheim over Detroit - our NHL record in this round hasn't been great...but trust me, the Ducks get it done in Detroit tonight...they should have won Friday. Lay $100 on the Ducks - $110.
