World Cup Wednesday Picks

Hey Peeps and anyone else checking in. A special "Hey" goes out to Hazel Mae.

World Cup features Groups C and D today.

The Group C games are about pride and positioning - Group D games are about positioning as the first and second spots have yet to be determined (though Portugal has already qualified for round of 16).

Cote D'Ivoire 2 - 1 Serbia & Montenegro - the Ivory Coast has asserted themselves well at the tournament, they deserved a better fate that being drawn with the Dutch and the Argentines. Drogba leaves the tournament on a high note.

Argentina 3 - 1 Holland - I had picked Holland to win Group C in my World Cup preview, but I'm picking Argentina today as Holland's coast could be sitting up to 6 starters who have yellow cards.

Portugal 2 - 2 Mexico - Portugal is in the same boat as the Dutch, with Luiz Felipe Scolari saying that anyone who has a yellow card is sitting today. Portugal has enough left to stay in the game and secure top spot.

Iran 1 - 0 Angola - Iran leaves the tournament salvaging some pride. Angola has been playing not to lose, I don't think they can play to win.

Have a great one peeps. GO PORTUGAL!
