Staring Elimination In The Face

Hey Peeps and anyone else checking in. A special "Hey" goes out to Hazel Mae.

The Edmonton Oilers pulled one out in Carolina last night - Fernando Pisani scored a shorthanded goal three and a half minutes into overtime to send the series back to Edmonton. I was one of the people that wrote them off when Roloson went down, but you have to think this one is going to go seven games - and the old saying goes "Game 7 is anybody's game."

Two teams face elimination at the World Cup today; elimination in the sense that their last game will be rendered meaningless if the lose today. Costa Rica and Sweden need big games to stay alive - while in the other game, England can clinch first place in the group with a win over Trinidad and Tobago. On to my predictions for today's games:

Ecuador 2 - 0 Costa Rica - A win for Ecuador guarantees them a place in the round of 16, a loss or a tie means they have to look to Poland to help them out - I can't see Ecuador putting their faith in Poland.

Trinidad and Tobago 0 - 3 England - The English press were critical of the team after their opening game victory over Paraguay...they shut the press up today with a good game.

Sweden 1 - 1 Paraguay - Sweded is in some trouble, grumblings about players fighting - I think Paraguay plays it close to the vest and takes their chances against Costa Rica.

That's it for this morning peeps. Have a great one!
