Good, Bad, & Really Ugly

Hey Peeps and anyone else checking in. A special "Hey" goes out to Hazel Mae.

Ok, I'll start off with the REALLY ugly, my three play yesterday was just awful - for that I apologize, it won't happen again. I was listening to the idiots on the Fan590 yesterday morning and I bought into the New Orleans under and the Buffalo win (forgetting that they are probably all Bills fans). I should have just went with my top three NFL picks and ended the day at 2-1. Lesson learned.

The Good - The Dallas Cowboys beat the Texans to improve to 3-2, with T.O. scoring 3 TDs; the Eagles lose to the Saints (told you they were counterfeit). Dallas is one game behind the Eagles.

The Bad - I normally celebrate Washington Redskins' losses; yesterday's loss though was crushing as I had them in one of my suicide pools. I should have known - the Redskins are terrible (again, listening to those idiots on the Fan 590). The stinking Jets blew a great Pro-Line ticket for me by giving up that late TD to the Dolphins.

HAZEL'S THREE STARS
There were a lot of great performances yesterday - the boys made up for last week's less than stellar performances. It was a tough choice, but here is who I think Hazel would be giving her perfectly manicured thumbs up to:

Carlos Delgado of the Mets. Hazel's old pal hit a three-run home run in the fifth inning to break a 2-2 against the Cardinals last night. Delgado also hit a two-run double in the sixth to lead the Mets to a series tying victory in St. Louis. (Honourable mention goes to Carlos Beltran who hit two HRs, one of them coming when the game was out of reach).

LaDainian Tomlinson of the Chargers. L.T. had an average day in terms of rushing yards - but he ran for four TDs. I know the 49ers aren't much of a run stopping defence - but to score four times on any team that is most certainly keying on you down by the goal line, well that's like hitting a HR. Chicks dig the long ball and the TD.

Terrell Owens of the Cowboys. That's right, after all his talk this week, after all the controversy - Owens caught five passes, with three of them for TDs.

MONDAY'S THREE PLAY
Chicago -12.5 over Arizona. Yesterday's covers by the Titans and Raiders doesn't scare me away from this game. Primetime for the Bears - that defence will be pumped and might even outscore Arizona's offence.

Carolina over Tampa Bay - The defending Stanley Cup champs finally won a game - expect them to go on a run over the next couple of weeks.

Nashville over NY Islanders - Big things were expected from the Predators this year - its time for them to show the experts weren't wrong.

One last thing - I can't really talk about soccer on yahoo (Renee doesn't like it). For those of you that think soccer is for wimps, check out this story about what happened in England over the weekend. Chelsea (aka Portuguese National Team North) lost both goalkeepers to injury during the same game; their first string goalkeeper Petr Cech suffered a fractured skull in a collision on Saturday.

That's about it for today gang - enjoy your Monday. Have a great one peeps!
